It is a common misconception, given the uncanny resemblance of the styles...  however, I do not draw that genre any more, as it has no possible commercial payback outside Japan.
Others, it appears, cannot so easily stop drawing stuff.

Why not? Are you from the States? I know for a fact that loli is not illegal on the federal level. State-level... Depends on the state, but you can usually get past that by making ages vague or saying that they are totally 18+ (like this site used to).

Yes, but it is a bit complicated, in that usually they do not allow that kind of material directly, so one has to link indirectly the stuff he posts - say - in Pixiv - with his or hers crow-funding accounts, by posting links and reminders.
Also, it shoud be a crowfunding site that accepts and pays off in some crypto-currency, as money digital trails are all too easy to follow.

At the same time, it is not as if that stuff was much more rewarding than what I usually draw, and my time is somewhat limited.
