This is probably gonna be a long one...

Reinbach, you're pretty awesome. I've been following you for years now and there's a couple of things to say.

You write well. Your comedy genuinely makes me laugh and your characters are interesting and full of depth. It helps that your art is REALLY strong but I actually think you have a rare talent not just on HF but also in comics at large. You can tell a story- and you blend the medium of comics and the content of sex into the narrative just flawlessly. No sex scene seems out of place- they all advance the plot or provide exposition on the character... either who they are when we introduce them or who they've become after a development. You're doing what I've always set out to do- to elevate smutty smut smut into a quality medium that can stand side by side with the rest of them. In the past, people found science fiction and comic books to be juvenile- but then we got people Isaac Asimov and Alan Moore. They said that about videogames too but now we have stuff like The Last of Us.

You also do shit like sneak in Resident Evil 2 dialogue on a chalkboard and it does not go unnoticed. ;)

Second point. Your art is good. Damn good. Just... looking over the thumbnails, I'm struck by your use of contrast. Most of your pairings have different skin tones- and they almost always pop out from whatever furniture/background they're fucking on. There's honestly just too much to say about your work- I could dive in and chew it up and examine every detail. I went to an art school and even though I was a terrible student, I could go full on critique mode on any one of your pieces and go on for an hour about what makes them good. I'm a bit jealous... I consider myself a mediocre artist and a pretty fantastic writer- but you've got both nailed down pat, and they both blend perfectly well into the medium you've chosen. Some comics are just vessels for making body #1 bump into body #2. Some comics are all dialogue and overburdened with text that they don't allow the art to tell some of the story as well.

Third point... God damn is that some wonderful cum you draw. Maybe I've got a fetish for the stuff but it's always the most significant part of a scene, I think. It's the culmination of the action- the expression of the male character's pleasure and satisfaction- the visual 'proof' of how good the sex is and how incredible the woman is making him feel. Hands down you've got the best spunk on HentaiFoundry. Top three outside of HF, comparable to some of my favorite Japanese artists. ;) It's got motion and explosiveness- but also weight and viscosity after the fact. It perfectly emphasizes the beautiful figures it falls upon- and perfectly emphasizes the utter depletion of the male's passion and virility.

I want to work with you, somehow. Don't know quite how and, frankly, don't know if I'm worthy, but I'm saying it. :P

Last thing that comes to mind; I don't go to Hentai Foundry's main page anymore. I go straight to your page to see if there's anything new. Then I check my own page for feedback... and only after that do I go to the front page.

I really like your comix Mister Reinbach . But I do hate waiting for a Friday to read magnificent comix. So please can you put out more than hust one. Please...

I'd love to do two pages a week, and when the time comes that I can swing it, I will. I'm on vacation this week but I'll have two pages when I come back next Friday.

Reinbach, your comics are seriously, and I DO mean seriously, the best comics I've ever read. From Switch and now This Romantic World, I can't help but feel attached to the story line AND the characters. Not many comic series have managed to have this effect on me, simply because there's always a Batman or a Superman, where the story always changes and the characters never budge, leaving me liking or caring for either a specific scene or not caring at all. But with your work, it's different. You can't have Switch without Casey, and you can't have Casey, Jane, Liz or Warren without the settings you place them in. In my eyes, that is what a good comic should be, a great and rich story and even greater and deeper characters. I also find myself thinking, what would I be doing now if it weren't for you, Reinbach? What would I be doing if you hadn't started posting Switch all those years ago? Would I be as inspired as I am now to create things, and have the motivation to finish them like you finished Switch after 3 years of work? The answer is probably no. Every time I read your work, especially with This Romantic World, since the new characters invoke wonder and curiosity, I feel something inside me that words cannot express. I feel as if I could conquer any challenges that come my way. Not because of the adult content exciting me, but because of the fact that you, a human being just like me, can create something so wonderful. It gives me hope that someday I will also be able to create wonderful things in this world. Whether it be art or whether it be something else, at least I would have the comfort of knowing that those great things were inspired by you.
Thank you Reinbach, not just for creating amazing art, but for making me become a better person.

Hey Reinbach, I'm a bit confused about your commissions system. From what I understand, you have to be at least a Level 2 patreon supporter, then wait until an announcement that commissions are open, at which point you can request a commission slot, right? Sorry for the confusion.

With so much art I think I'll just comment here to generalize my overall thoughts on your stuff... it's amazing. Let's start with your art style, through being on HF I've discovered rough outlines can really bring out a certain intensity to things. In sex scenes(especially when Cassey had her biggest orgasm), it makes them a lot more action packed(even though their still pics), bringing me into what's happening, paying attention to every action, even when people are just standing talking, the lines bring about a presence in everyone so that again, I'm invested in what's going on. Not to mention, you draw pussy juice supper well, like to well. It's all messy and transparent, and drippy, like actual liquid, and it looks sticky(like it should). I also like how you do facial expressions, their for the most part realistic, but still very expressive, and it's because of this that you can tell what each character is thinking emotionally(I especially like when they go wide eyed). So yeah, excellent work.

Now to talk about Switch, and the side comics involving that series. I really enjoy Switch, not just because of the art style, but because of the writing. I can tell you gave the time to think and give each character their own personality and thought process. I'm invested in the characters and the troubles of Cassey(in a weird way I can empathize with her a bit, at least on the scale of feeling alone at certain times and feeling like there's another presence near my at times). I think my favorite character has to be Bria, I like her arc so far and I like that she brings out the compassionate side of Cassey(she actually restrains herself from doing it with Bria and in general, acts a bit differently when they're together), just as Cassey brings out the wild side of Bria. It's a nice balance the two have going.

To sum up, your art is amazing, your comic and characters are amazing, and I look forward to what happens next in Switch and/or your next standalone piece. Keep on keeping on when you have the time man :)

Something I forgot to mention, aside from the outlines, there's also the rough, sandpaper like texture on everything(not sure how to exactly describe it). Combined with the outlines and it definitely makes your art... well your own. That's about it, again, good job

You say Commissions are only open to patreons. How does that work exactly? Also, is it gonna stay that way?

I may need to change that policy, as it's really more of a guideline than a rule any more. Patreon supporters get priority status for commissions, (which can be had for as low as $1 per month) but if I have a light workload that week I can sometimes fit in a commission outside of my supporter base. so rein bach is Sylvia a porn actress or adult film actress/producer/director? 
Sylvia married the father of her daughter who impregnated her at 14. based on my guesstimation of such a situation no teenage boy would stay with someone long enough for said child to grow up. meaning the father is probably older than sylvia by a margin old enough to support her and be mature enough to integrate into her life. This may mean she was being exploited, a potential path into the sex industry ala the film "deep throat".
Sylvia's homelife must have been very abusive or neglectful to not separate her from someone. making me think she ran away or in someway distanced herself. this explains her very unhealthy view on sex and parental child relations. lack of interest in child's sexual proclivities, undiagnosed (obvious) schizophrenia and unregulated medication. Gambling by itself does not mean much but may be indicative of her own vices. 
the Setting is seemingly in a warm climate with beaches and sunsets indicating california heart of the sex industry. she goes to conventions (porn star conventions, sexapoolazas?) where she has a management role indicating experience in the industry. Having had a child at such a young age also indicates a lack of traditional opportunities based on likely having missed a lot of school. an industry where she can use her inherent attributes to excel to a high position at such a young age are hard to come by. also a divorce from an exploitive husband would happen if she could finally support herself or move into the industry on her own what with dropping her "agent"
Royce is a screenwriter or something indicating possibly meeting him within the industry (conjecture) but adds to the idea this is california. the "northern casino" being close enough of a drive away might indicate this is closer to nevada but that only helps the theory, the northern bit may be just a name so who knows.
So with Sylvia likely having been abused and exploited, is she a member of the porn industry? Casey's own ostracization could be a part of this(aside from the schizophrenia which usually crops up in puberty and later).

Well thank you for such thoughtful feedback! I'll answer it as best I can.
I don't want to give away too much, as I'd like you to have the chance to get to know more about Sylvia as the story goes on, so I'll be leaving a few things out. As for her childhood, it wasn't quite so dire as you might think. Though she was quite overweight, and struggled with some serious anger issues. So far in the comic her anger issues have only manifested once, and even then only slightly, as she largely has them under control now. (It was in chapter four when she was just about to orgasm.) In her teens she resolved to adopt a healthy lifestyle and started losing weight, she succeeded and felt empowered, this sparked what would become an addiction to success, (which would later become a gambling addiction.) As you can imagine her newfound figure attracted boys in droves, one of which was Miles Holland. I could of sworn I had her as 16 when they met but if you're sure it was 14 it's very possible I posted that and forgot about it. Sylvia's borderline unhealthy "can't lose" attitude, along with a great deal of help from her parents, and Miles, who abandoned his own education, allowed her to graduate high school and go to college. She founded a small independent publishing company centered around a healthy living magazine that she eventually, as print began to fade, transformed into a successful website called Step Forward. She met Royce through a weekly piece he would contribute about tips and techniques about effective weight training. I haven't talked about her work much because frankly it would require a good deal of research on my end to present it authentically, as I personally don't know the first thing about running a fitness website and so far the details of her job haven't been essential to the story. And in comics, I've found there is little room for nonessential.

As for her dealings with Casey, like most people I've ever known who were forced to grow up early, she's enamored with her teenage years and somewhere deep down she never outgrew them. When Casey reached her teens Sylvia started to subconsciously view her more like a peer than a daughter. The fact that Sylvia has always been very self absorbed also helped to nullify the emotional closeness that would normally make their degree of physical intimacy unthinkable to the average parent. Also, more to the point, Sylvia is a pervert, like mother like daughter. Miles is a fairly balanced, stable minded individual. Make no mistake, Casey gets all her crazy from Sylvia.
 
Well I hope I've answered some of your questions, and thank you for your interest in my comic!

alright so //maximum-context.ru/xbnat/pictures/user/Reinbach/329243/Switch-page-09 was where i got the age which as it turns out it was actually fifteen. i guess 14 stuck in my mind for some reason. having read the logistics written out a lot of this makes sense with the only caveat of me not truly understanding the relationship she could have had with someone who got her pregnant in highschool. While from what you say Miles was a straight shooter who did right by her, her being so self absorbed however i don't see how that would fly. Now obviously years have passed and we see that it did not workout, but a timeline still consists of her staying with him long enough for Casey to remember them interacting at an age where Casey was growing in sexual activity(like 12 or 13?). Especially for someone who is extremely success oriented. That her parents were so supportive is a nice shift in context from my imagined backstory and makes Sylvia's issues more her own.

Now although you haven't said i'm assuming this relationship would be on and off based mostly on Sylvia's judgement so well it might be at a time where they had rekindled. especially with a semi-absentee father i could see interest in any activities he participates in eliciting Casey's interest more than normal childhood curiosity. Was i correct in anything in regards to the description of Miles being older and more mature? 

And finally because i desire acknowledgement of all of my petty attempts at insight was my geography in anyway correct?
its cool you responded with so much enthusiasm and unknown context its very interesting to see inner workings of living stories as they are written.

Let's see as for them staying together, despite Sylvia being self absorbed she also doesn't accept failure and refused to admit that she couldn't make things work with the father of her child for many years, not divorcing until Casey was in her mid teens. Miles is more mature yes but not significantly older than Sylvia. (After all as young as she was if he'd been much older he'd be statutory rapist.) As for the geography your logic makes sense in regards to how it's always sunny. To be honest I always thought of Switch taking place in some kind of alternate porn reality. A world where all the women are gorgeous, all the men are well hung and shoot pints of semen when they come, and you never seem to see anyone anywhere under the age of 18.

Just out of curiosity. Is there any chance for Kim Chang to have a comic page story of her own besides "Switch"? You can never go wrong with a cute girl like that. Plus you can use the story she's from by DraceDomino as that

Just a quick question, when drawing OC's do you absolutely need a reference or can you work off of a description?

I've worked off of description before, recently in fact. Sometimes it takes a couple of revisions to the sketch but so far all my clients have been happy with what I come up with. I'll be opening back up for commissions this weekend if you're interested.

Id sometimes come to this site check a few things for a few minutes and leave. Then I stumbled on your Switch Comic ... I registered just so I can follow your work better.

That being said; I love your work! what really caught my eye was the art style, I love the way you draw, the visual style really. The Story also captivated me, as much as I enjoy sex like the next guy, I also enjoy interesting stories and characters, dynamics between people, I must say I'm intreagued and attentive to this comic. Thanks so much for your support! Casey was originally very loosely inspired by adult film actress Dakota Skye, (but with quite a drastic difference in breast size.) Though nowadays she really reminds me more of a very busty version of TV actress Elisha Cuthbert. As for Bria, she's not based on anyone in particular, she's solely inspired by how hot I think smart black women are.

Will you ever be doing anything with the hot mother? maybe some 3way with the daughter like I think is gonna happen? Also any anal? 

Well as of this writing I plan on the hot mother being the focus of chapter four. I say as of this writing because my chapter plans sometimes change at the last minute. As for the anal stuff, yes there absolutely will be eventually but it may be awhile, seeing as Casey absolutely hates it and Royce does (or, in this case, doesn't do) whatever she says.

How about make the mother like anal? that would be pretty hot. 

Well I can say that you gave me an idea for another one-shot pic that I'll be posting within a week or so.

Wow. I can barely think of what to say. The comic you've got going here is so very well-done. The story is interesting, full of twists, teases, and subplots; the sex is lively and lengthy and realistic, and the art is flawless (For what it's trying to achieve, you understand. It's a gritty cartoon, not the Sistine chapel). I feel bad that I read it in half an hour, when it's clearly taken you hundreds of hours to write and draw it. I hope my honest praise can help to repay you for your hard work. This is the best comic I've ever read on H-F and I've been here a while.

Very impressive art. I adore your style with the proportions and heavy use of eye shadow on Casey. The excessive cum is also an awesome touch. It's a very distinct and unique style and I implore you to stick with it.

After reading your 7 page comic, I have to say I'm actually very impressed with your work so far! Even though there wasn't much of a plot to go on with it, you built up enough of a pre-existing relationship between the trio to make some realistic angry sex happen (at least on the step-daughters part). Art wise, you have a more realistic yet still comicish style that I can truly appreciate and out of all your pictures so far, I actually enjoy your Lucina/Tharja picture. Those two are some of my favorite ladies in FE as well and you're right, Lucina really would be the reluctant type that has to be coaxed into everything, though not for the reason you wrote. She is shown to be naive, not understanding of subtle when it came to couple stuff but still able to pick things up as things went along. 

I can't wait to see what you keep producing and if I can afford whatever rates you put up, I'd love to commission you sometime, especially with my birthday coming up on the 1st of Feb. I want to get a few things done for that.

Hey thanks for the input! I'm doing my best over here, and as for commissions I hope to have them up and running within a week or so. The entire process is new to me so there are some facets I need to figure out, such as what to charge and how much to take on at once, assuming my work gets popular enough for that to be an issue. As for price I'll probably just poke around on here and see what other artists around my skill level are charging, then shave a few bucks off those rates for awhile in hopes that people will be patient with me while I learn the ropes. But thanks again for the comment, it's encouraging to hear any talk of interest in commissioning my art.

Well take your time certainly. Offering lower prices due to the fact that you're just starting is a good way to gain consistent customers, along with the fact that you're also taking in effort needed vs. time. If you can get good rapport with your commissioners, you'll never have a problem finding commissions. 

I'll certainly offer you something in about a weeks time. I get paid next Thursday so it wouldn't be an issue depending on your final price.

I'm certainly not the right person to give constructive critique on drawings. To me, your style looks like Noe, but with way more realistic and appealing people in it. I like it, even though I usually like even more sharply and thinly drawn lines. It#s a nice style and I could get used to see much more of it.
What intrigued me most was the idea behind the Kitchen comic, though. Imo, comics live from the visual aspect as much as from the idea behind. A clever surprise is great, even if one can perfectly fap to a series of sexy pictures. You made me curious about the story of Casey and her family, though. I want to get to know more about them. That's really great, so here are my heartfelt compliments to you. ;-)

Thanks for the thoughtful comment! And I can see that we're like minded in the belief that setting and story are just as important as action when it comes to sex comics. That's actually the main reason I decided that the current scene, while I like the artwork, wasn't the best way to start the story. Because to me it seemed like a waste to just jump right in without showing the lead up to why/how a teenage girl would end up having an affair with her mother's fiancee. I don't want to end up with another false start so I'm going to take my time and plan things a bit more before I restart the story, but I've got some ideas for a few prequel scenes to keep me posting until then.

Well, I beg to differ, but keep in mind that i is a writers perspective. As I had to learn, a jump straight into a moment of potential conflict can be a great start for a story. In your comic, it was this start that may have intrigued me most. Page one was introductory, but made the impression that the comic was about the mom. Page two ended in a way that made me rethink the suspicion that naughty stuff would happen immediately, page three proved me wrong. Meanwhile, I learned about a backstory behind the whole thing through hints and of course, there were questions arising, but all of those looked like they could be wonderfully answered later, as the story progressed. The actual sex was then complemented by characterization. I learned that he is at least confident, maybe overconfident and that she's proud and may have gotten swept away - or may have gotten what she wanted, for she didn't come along as feeling forced.
The two main characters so far had five pages to be fleshed out and are already interesting persons with potential flaws and weaknesses, but also strengths. Potential for conflict is plentiful and erotic tension is as high as is general tension. The questions so far are basic, but that's great for those are easy to answer. I'd In a story, I wouldn't go back in time now. What has happened, has happened and was described enough. WHY it happened would be the more interesting question, but I'd opt for showing, not telling. Instead of planning a conversation, I'd point out how the two characters are drawn to each other and alternate with scenes involving mom. What she does, might be very well suited for a comic like this or may be a distraction, at first, but if she's going to play a role, she needs some characterization, too. For now, she's the least likeable character, even though she's the fooled one here. She managed to make me feel like she deserves it with one single sentence, which is great.

All in all... No, this isn't a false start in my book. It's a great start!
If you can't help but restart, I might have to write this story. I know perfectly well that muse can be a bitch, but I'd strongly suggest looking at it again and take what you have to work from here. The start is authentic and the characters are actually believable. That#s certainly more than many, many comics can claim for themselves. Don't throw it away. Don't fall into the perfectionist trap and think you can do it better, never getting past the start, because... yes, you can do it better. The day you can't, you're dying. Improvement is always possible, but things made on the way to perfection may be damn good nonetheless and if you don't finish them, you may one day have a great start, but don't know how to proceed, for you practiced starting, but nothing else...
Sorry, if I'm rambling, but I've been in your shoes for a long(!) time. ;-)

I don't think you're rambling, everything you're saying makes sense. And had I known in advance that anyone would be this enthused about a seven page rough draft, I would have thought twice about posting it all. Which would have been a bad thing because the feedback I've gotten from just these few pages has been very valuable. I am quite familiar with the trap of restarting but in this case I think it's warranted. For as well as this scene turned out, it's still the product of an impulsive instance where I chose to draw first and write later, which is a pretty lousy start to a story that as of now could go on for over 100 pages. My ultimate goal is to quite my grueling day job and be paid to draw, and it's my hope that if I do this right I can start a patreon page and people will like this comic enough to happily support it. The work has to be made at the best of my ability, so 'm certainly not going to knowingly start the story at a point where it's too late to show the main character's inciting incident. I truly do appreciate your interest in this draft, and in light of that I hope you can have some faith and trust me when I say that the new version will be even better.

Ultimately, it’s your decision and it sounds like you thought it through and already did some work for the restart. It’s just… a pity to leave this great start behind. Great starts are rare. Every one not used to the fullest feels like another forever lost unicorn somehow… ;-D
 
As for you motivation and goal: Sounds legit. I see others do it. Although the very most also do commissions. I’ve heard many say that those are the real powerhouses. You should strongly consider it. Your stile is not that common and has an artsy touch, so you should find customers easily when you put out hundred pages of comic and become better known.
Now… I guess, I shouldn’t start talking business. I’m glad, you really invested some thought into restarting and I always trust in artists, because I have to. Arguably being one myself, I know how impossible it is to change our minds. We’re… ‘snotty, autistic chefs’ as somebody once put it. We have to do our thing.

And as much as I wish I spoke German, (it's my heritage after all) the name Reinbach is actually just a reference to an obscure old video game called Suikoden. In which whenever the characters had to come up with a bogus name on the spot, one of the options was always "Shtoltenheim Reinbach the Third." I thought that was the greatest fake name ever and I'm glad I haven't seen anyone else using it yet.

Oh, it's a great name. For a real, german touch it lacks a 'c' in S(c)holtenheim, but it's certainly unique this way.
I'm fine with English, though. It#s a bit easier to communicate in a common mother language, but I'm pretty fluent in understanding and getting better in expressing in English. So, the invitation stands. ;-)
